This Privacy Policy explains how MEDOCX PORTAL L.L.C S.O.C (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Medocx mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and to collecting only the minimal information needed to operate the App. By using Medocx, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We collect a deliberately small amount of information. Specifically:
When you sign in to Medocx using Sign in with Apple, Apple provides us with a unique, app-specific user identifier. This identifier is an anonymous string of characters that lets us recognize your account and associate it with your saved content. It does not contain your name or contact details, and it cannot be used to identify you outside of the App. We do not request or receive your email address or your name.
When you save a video within the App, we store a record linking your Apple identifier to the videos you have saved, so that your saved list is available when you return or use another device.
When you answer a question incorrectly, or mark a flashcard as Hard, we store a record linking your Apple identifier to that item so it can be gathered into your Troubling Spots review list and reach your other devices. The record is only the identifier of the question or card. We do not store the answer you gave, a score, a grade, or any history of your attempts.
These records are removed as you improve. Answering a question correctly, or marking a card as Easy, deletes the corresponding record. The list therefore only ever reflects what is still outstanding, and it can be emptied entirely by working through it.
Your daily goal and your per-topic progress are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see how much you study, how often you open the App, or how far through any topic you are. Because this information never leaves your phone, it does not follow you to another device, and deleting the App erases it. You can also clear it at any time using Delete all progress at the bottom of the Topics screen, which does not affect your account or your saved videos.
That is the full extent of the personal information we collect.
To be clear, Medocx does not collect:
We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
The review list described above is the only record we hold of how you have used the App, it exists solely to build the Troubling Spots feature for you, and it is not used for analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than showing you that list. Nothing you watch, listen to, or read is recorded.
We use the limited information we collect solely to:
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any form of tracking.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We rely on the following service providers to operate the App:
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or where necessary to protect our rights, our users’ safety, or the integrity of the App.
We retain your Apple identifier, your saved-video records, and your review-list records for as long as your account remains active. Individual review-list records are deleted automatically as soon as you resolve the item, as described above. If you request deletion of your data, we will delete this information from our systems, except where we are required to retain it by law.
You have control over your information:
If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or request data portability. Our legal basis for processing the limited data described above is the performance of our service to you (providing your account, your saved content, and your review list) and our legitimate interest in operating the App. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, contact us at [email protected].
Medocx is intended for medical students and healthcare learners and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Your information may be stored and processed on servers operated by our service providers, which may be located in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Medocx after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
